  • Why Step Into Leadership?

Leadership in our church is about more than just taking on responsibilities—it’s about making a difference, impacting lives, and helping others grow. Whether you’re behind the scenes or front and centre, your role is crucial to the success of the ministry. As a leader or host, you’ll:

Strengthen your leadership capacity: Gain real-life experience in ministry and team development.

Build meaningful relationships: Forge strong bonds with your team, fellow leaders, and the people you serve.

Experience the joy of service: See firsthand the difference your leadership makes in the lives of others.

    Leadership Beyond Groups

In this context, you are leading larger teams or ministry areas that require coordination, strategic thinking, and a passion for growth. From organising church-wide events to leading outreach initiatives, the opportunities to serve and lead are vast and impactful.

  • What Types of Leadership Are Available?

Leadership opportunities are diverse and endless, catering to different areas of passion and giftings. Here are some ways you can lead at Flock of the Good Shepherd:

➤ Ministry Team Leaders: Lead a team in a specific ministry. You’ll organise activities, inspire volunteers, and ensure the ministry runs smoothly.

    • Worship Ministry. Lead the Worship Ministry through planning, leading services, and training worship teams. This role involves not just technical skills but a deep passion for ushering others into God's presence through music and worship.
    • Creative Arts Ministry. In Creative Arts, you will lead teams to plan, create, and execute visual experiences, helping the church to worship and learn in dynamic, impactful ways.
    • Prayer Ministry. A Prayer Warrior helps direct intercessory prayer, organises prayer teams, and ensures that prayer is an ongoing part of the church’s life and mission.
    • Lambs of Light / MavMob / Fold Nexus. Bring clarity to the direction and execution of our discipleship programs across a variety of demographic.

➤ Administrative and Event Coordinators: Be part of the team that plans, hosts, and ensures our church services, meetings, and community events run smoothly.

➤ Outreach Leaders: Mobilise our church to serve the community and beyond. Help coordinate volunteer efforts, mission trips, and local service projects.

  • What Does Leadership Involve?

Across all these ministries, leadership is about service, guidance, and creating opportunities for others to grow in their faith. Whether you're coordinating events, leading teams, or shepherding individuals, your role will make a profound difference in people's spiritual lives.

    • Event Hosting: Organise and host church-wide or ministry-specific events that facilitate growth and draw people closer to God
    • Shape the Worship Experience: Whether you're leading a team of volunteers in the church or hosting a worship night, you'll help create an atmosphere where people can connect with God and each other.
    • Team Leadership: Guide volunteers, empowering them to serve and grow in their leadership. Leadership is servant-hearted. Your team or group will look to you for guidance, not because of your title, but because of your example.
    • Mentorship and Discipleship: As a leader, you’ll provide vision, guidance, and encouragement to those who serve alongside you.
  • Am I Ready to Lead?

You might feel a pull to step into leadership but aren’t sure if you’re ready. If you’re passionate about seeing others grow, have a heart to serve, and are eager to see God work, you’re ready!
